Blue Line Derailment

Chicago, IL: (Apr-16-08) The family of an 85-year-old woman brought a personal injury lawsuit against the Chicago Transit Authority, after she sustained severe injuries in the Blue Line train derailment that occurred nearly two years ago. Court records indicate that around 64 other victims from the derailment, that took place just west of the Clark and Lake Station, have also brought charges against the CTA. Sources familiar with the negotiations stated that as part of a settlement reached, the Chicago Transit Authority agreed to pay the 85-year-old woman $1.25 million to resolve the personal injury claim.
