Voice Automated Services

This is a settlement for the Trademark, Copyright, Patent lawsuit.

Los Angeles, CA: (Mar-20-08) Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing, L.P. brought a patent infringement lawsuit against Continental Airlines, the world's fifth largest airline. Spokespersons for both companies recently announced that a settlement has been reached, which resolves the patent litigation.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Continental Airlines, based in Houston, TX, agreed to pay an undisclosed sum for a nonexclusive license. The license would be under a comprehensive portfolio of patents that Katz owns relating to interactive voice applications. The Los Angeles based technology licensing firm stated that the nonexclusive license covers services offered by Continental Airlines in the "Travel and Transportation Services" Field of Use. That would include customer service provided via automated systems and live agents. Both sides refused to reveal the finer terms of the agreement. [CENTRE DAILY TIMES: KATZ TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, L.P.
