Inmate Medical Negligence

Rochester, MN: (Feb-5-08) Kevin Keller, a former county inmate, brought a lawsuit against Olmsted County, claiming that it did not get him to a hospital soon enough when he was showing symptoms of heart failure while in jail. Officials in the recent past claimed that the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners were meeting to mull over a settlement proposal that would end litigation over the issues. In a recent development, sources close to the case stated that the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners had agreed to pay Keller $225,000 to avoid a trial. Additionally, Keller will also receive $112,000 towards medical costs he had incurred. [KTTC NEWS: INMATE MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE]
