Adult Care

Greensboro, NC: (Jan-24-08) The state brought a lawsuit against Friendship Care Assisted Living, a troubled Greensboro adult care home, alleging that the facility had a history of violations of state law and regulations. Records show that in August 2007, state inspectors recommended that it be closed after residents failed to receive prescribed medication. Due to the negligence, the state ordered that the facility's license be revoked. Apart from that, the state also imposed a $20,000 fine against the facility, the maximum that can be imposed by the division's Penalty Review Committee. The facility will shut its doors by January 31, 2008 and must find new homes for its residents. The Guilford County Department of Social Services will help find new homes for the residents.
