Land Preparation

Nashville, TN: (Jan-09-08) The Thompson's Station Board brought charges against Wal-Mart, over expenses the city incurred in preparing for the retailer to come to town before the plans were scrapped in August 2007. Records show that the town sent Wal-Mart a $93,000 claim in the fall, seeking reimbursement for the town's expenses in preparing the 40-acre location just south of State Route 840. Sources close to the case stated that the two sides had reached a settlement in which the Thompson's Station Board of Mayor and Alderman voted in favor of accepting a more than $122,000 settlement from Wal-Mart.
