Maricopa County Community College District

Maricopa County, AZ: (Dec-08-07) Cyndi Greening, longtime Mesa Community College media-arts director, brought charges against the Maricopa County Community College District, alleging that she had been wrongfully terminated. The suit stated that Greening received a termination letter in May 2007, in which the district accused her of double-enrolling students in a class; asking a student to team-teach a class and then dropping him from the class before the end of the semester without his knowledge. Greening was accused of authorizing team-teaching in a class that a representative of Apple Inc. was paid to teach. In her defense, Greening claimed that everything was done with the knowledge of her department chair, who initially forwarded the case to the district. As part of a settlement reached, sources stated that the Maricopa County Community College District will pay Cyndi Greening $10,000 to resolve the dispute.
