Laid-Off Workers

Minneapolis, MN: (Nov-29-07) A lawsuit was brought against Westling Manufacturing alleging that the major local industry unlawfully laid off employees when it closed. Sources stated that the company was started in 1933 by Don Westling and remanufactured automobile starters, generators and alternators. The suit stated that the workers complained right away of unpaid back wages, while others said they had incurred expenses on behalf of the company that were not reimbursed. They stated that they weren't given enough time before they were laid off. As part of a settlement reached, the company agreed to a $120,000 payout to resolve the dispute.
