Police Officer Injury

Norwich, CT: (Nov-20-07) Norwich police officer Joseph Dolan brought charges against the city, after an altercation at the police station left him with a debilitating eye injury. The suit stated that after the spat in a contentious union meeting, Dolan was the only one arrested. He was charged with third-degree assault and ended up serving a one-week suspension. Dolan, the former union president, sought compensation, including work-related injuries, and other unspecified issues, as he plans retirement in February 2008. As part of a settlement reached, city officials agreed to pay Dolan $63,500 in city funds, resolving all outstanding claims with the detective. [THE DAY: OFFICER INJURY]
