Race Car Crash

This is a settlement for the Car Accidents (National) lawsuit.

San Diego, CA: (Oct-30-07) The wife and parents of Corey Rudl, a La Jolla, California internationally renowned Internet marketing guru, brought a lawsuit against Porsche, California Speedway, and Ferrari Owner's Club, alleging that negligence on their part contributed to the wrongful death of Rudl. The suit claimed that in 2005 Rudl was contemplating purchasing a $440,000 exotic race car when he and passenger Ben Keaton were killed in a Porsche Carrera GT. The accident happened after the Porsche crashed into a concrete barrier at a speed estimated to be nearly 100 mph while trying to avoid a Ferrari merging onto the front straight away.

Records state that both Rudl and Keaton were both racing participants in a Ferrari Club event being held at the track. The incident sparked debates concerning the responsibility of the event organizers, and the design of the Porsche Carrera GT itself. As part of a settlement reached, the defendants have agreed to pay $4.5 million dollars to Rudl's wife, Tracy, and parents, John and Patricia. [ALL HEADLINE NEWS: RACE CAR CRASH]
