Football Coach

Baton Rouge, LA: (Oct-19-07) Jerry Baldwin, former University of Louisiana head football coach, brought charges against the varsity, claiming that he was wrongly fired because he is black. Sources stated that Baldwin coached for University of Louisiana from 1999 to 2001 until he was fired for poor performance, but the former coach filed suit against the school and the University Of Louisiana Board Of Supervisors in 2002. As part of a settlement reached, a jury in the 19th Judicial District in Baton Rouge announced that they approved of awarding Baldwin $2 million, resolving the wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuit.
