Elementary School Construction

Jefferson County, CO: (Oct-19-07) The Jefferson County School District brought charges against Harris Brothers Construction and Pacific West Construction, two contractors who built two elementary schools, alleging that they provided substandard services to the district. The litigation, that has plagued the parties for over two years, was regarding Harris Brothers building of Midway Middle School and Pacific West Construction over the job they did building Jefferson Elementary. The suit claimed that the two schools have had a lot of problems since they opened in 2003, including leaking roofs and freezing pipes. As part of a settlement reached, it is estimated that the district stands to receive $450,000 from each contractor. That $900,000 is far less than the $6.5 million the district has said it would take to repair the problems. [KPVI NEWS: SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION]
