Hispanic Bias

New York, NY: (Oct-17-07) The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) brought a lawsuit against The B&H photo store in Midtown, alleging bias. The suit claimed that B&H Photo and Electronics Corp. paid Hispanics less than others, and failed to promote them or provide health benefits. The case was being considered in Manhattan federal court. As part of a settlement reached, The B&H photo store agreed to pay $4.3 million to settle the bias allegations. Under the agreement, B&H agreed to equalize wages, and to distribute $4.3 million to those who suffered discrimination. [INTERNATIONAL HERLAD TRIBUNE: HISPANIC BIAS]
