Car Accident

This is a settlement for the Car Accidents (National) lawsuit.

Sebastian, FL: (Oct-03-07) Diann Farr, a Sebastian resident, filed a lawsuit against the city council of Sebastian based on an accident in October 2002, involving a city employee. According to city officials and court records, an employee of the city's water and sewer department was found to be at fault when he turned left in front of a southbound vehicle driven by Farr at the intersection of Indian River Boulevard and 17th Street. Diann required treatment for spinal, shoulder and other injuries following the accident. Farr's medical costs have totaled more than $350,000, according to a memo from the city's attorney. Though, the city has more than $3 million in its self-insurance fund, it agreed to pay only $100,000 owing to a statutory cap on its liability. [TC PALM NEWS: CAR ACCIDENT]
