Wall Township, NJ

Wall Township, NJ: (Sep-21-07) Over 50 Wall officers brought a federal lawsuit against Capt. Bernard Sullivan, Roy Hall, and the police department in US District Court in Trenton, over a hidden surveillance camera placed in the police headquarters locker room. Hall had previously stated that the camera was placed in the locker room following reports that a police officer had found a racially biased note in his locker. Legal counsel said that Hall and other individuals, including Sullivan, decided to install the camera without a warrant or approval from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office to try to ascertain who had slipped the note. Hall and others, in their response to the suit, had admitted installing the camera. In a settlement reached, the township agreed to resolve the federal suit over the hidden surveillance camera for $145,500. [ASBURY PARK PRESS: HIDDEN CAMERA]
