Inappropriate Police Officer
Harvey, IL: (Sep-23-07) Ranicka Stone filed a lawsuit against the city, alleging that she was forced to perform a sex act on Tyrone Johnson, a former Harvey police officer. Stone sued the city in connection with the May 2005 incident at her home in which Johnson forced her to have sex with him to avoid her arrest. Reports show that Johnson resigned from the police department in 2005 and later pleaded guilty to official misconduct concerning the incident. He was sentenced to two years in prison and has been released.
As part of a settlement agreement that the city reached with Ranicka Stone, they agreed to pay her $150,000, resolving the lawsuit. It's the second six-figure settlement this month that will be paid by the city. Last week, the son of former Mayor Nickolas Graves reached a $400,000 settlement with the city for being dumped as the city's towing operator after his father's failed bid for re-election in 2003.
