Dr. Pradeep Srivastava

Potomac, MD: (Aug-23-07) The federal government filed charges against Dr. Pradeep Srivastava of Potomac, alleging that he fraudulently billed Medicare and another health program. Srivastava, a cardiologist with offices in Greenbelt and Oxon Hill, was accused of multiple billing abuses over a three-and-a-half-year period ending in May 2003. He was accused of filing false claims with Medicare and the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program for services he did not perform.

Though Srivastava, 48, denied the charges, he agreed to enter into a settlement agreement to resolve claims. As part of the settlement, he entered into a five-year integrity agreement with the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services. The agreement imposes compliance measures and monitors bills submitted under federal programs. He further agreed to a $476,000 payout to the federal government to resolve allegations.
