Green Bay Packers

This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.

Madison, WI: (Jul-19-07) The Green Bay Packers have reached a settlement with former team president John Jones. Jones was placed on administrative leave on May 26, 2007, just four days before he was to succeed Bob Harlan as president and CEO, because of repeated administrative lapses. Harlan claimed that he as well as other officials had noticed a decline in Jones' performance in the fall of 2006, which coincides with Jones' return to full-time work from his surgery. However, others in the organization had misgivings about Jones' administrative and leadership skills before then. In the settlement reached, Jones appears likely to receive full payment of his three-year contract with the Packers. His salary for each year is believed to be in the range of $900,000, so he will receive close to $2.7 million over the next three years. [PACKERS NEWS: CONTRACT TERMINATION]
