Beaulieu Group, LLC

Rome, GA: (Jun-17-07) The Internal Revenue Service filed charges against Beaulieu Group, LLC, of Dalton, GA, alleging that the company filed a false tax return. After a long winded and complex investigation, Beaulieu pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return, and, as part of a global settlement agreed to pay over $32 million as a result of its wrongdoing. Federal officials claimed that when a company conducts itself in the manner Beaulieu Group LLC did, it faces severe consequences. The suit was filed as a bid to curtail such breaches of business integrity. Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge Rebecca A. Sparkman claimed that the system of taxation in the country depends on the integrity of large corporations and its officers to pay their fair share. Beaulieu Group had sacrificed their integrity with the American taxpayer in exchange for a felony tax conviction. The guilty plea was to be an example that IRS would hold corporate citizens accountable to the same standards that all honest taxpayers follow. [THE STUDENT OPERATED PRESS: IRS TAX FRAUD]
