Frostproof , FL: (Jun-06-07) Stella Heath, a former assistant city manager, brought a lawsuit against the city, claiming it owed her in unpaid wages and that she was sexually harassed while on duty. The federal lawsuit against the city and former City Manager Elly Johnson was filed in 2005. The civil rights action claimed Heath was retaliated against after making a sexual harassment complaint against Johnson, who was fired in August 2005 and died last year in North Carolina.

In a settlement reached, the city of Frostproof has agreed to pay $340,000 to Stella Heath. The city's insurance company will pay about $309,000. Frostproof's total bill tops $31,000 because it must pay Heath $6,188 in lost wages and a $25,000 deductible to the insurance company. [THE LEDGER: CITY MANAGER HARASSMENT]
