Freightliner LLC

Black River Falls, WI: (Jun-04-07) Ken's Septic Cleaning of Holcombe filed suit against Oregon-based Freightliner LLC in March 2006 under the lemon law, after more than a dozen attempts to repair a 2005 freightliner, purchased for $80,000, failed to make it run properly. The suit claimed that the Freightliner truck continued to experience problems, even after a new engine was installed. The engine's manufacturer eventually solved the problem with a "computer software fix" but not before Ken's Septic suffered numerous business losses because of the problems.

In a settlement reached, Ken's Septic Cleaning received a $400,000 payout from Freightliner LLC to make up for its business losses. The only larger settlement under the lemon law in Wisconsin occurred in 2001. It involved problems with a semi-truck and totaled just under $500,000. [DAILY CITIZEN: LEMON LAW]

Repeated and ongoing product failures in 20 semi tractors purchased from them in Nov 2009. Cannot keep the trucks on the road. Between down time, loss loads, drivers quitting, tow bills, etc., the damages are about to put me out of business.
