Dayton, OH: (May-21-07) DPL Inc. filed a lawsuit against three of it's former executives, accusing them of improperly taking $33 million in deferred compensation. The executives, former Chairman Peter Forster, former interim Chief Financial Officer Caroline Mulhenkamp and former Chief Executive Stephen Koziar Jr. filed a countersuit against the company claiming that they had earned the deferred compensation and were entitled to even more. In a settlement reached, the former executives agreed to relinquish deferred compensation worth $43 million, stock options valued at $52 million, claimed bonuses and compensation of $21 million and a claim for attorneys' fees of $18 million. In exchange for dropping $134 million in claims against the company, DPL former executives will receive $25 million minus taxes from existing master trusts. [CHRON.COM: EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION]
