University of Georgia

Macon, GA: (Apr-28-07) Tiffany Williams, a former University of Georgia student filed a $25 million sexual harassment lawsuit against the university, alleging she was sexually assaulted by former basketball player Steve Thomas and ex-football player Brandon Williams. Tiffany Williams claimed UGA officials were slow to respond to an alleged assault involving the athletes. Though she admitted to having consensual sex with former Georgia basketball player Tony Cole, she claimed that school officials exposed her to danger by recruiting Cole even though they knew he had a history of sexual misconduct. In a settlement reached, the University of Georgia reached a six figure out-of-court settlement with Williams, ending the sexual harassment suit. As part of the agreement, Brandon Williams was acquitted of any wrongdoing, and criminal charges against Cole and Thomas were dropped. [13 WMAZ NEWS: ATHLETES ASSAULT]
