Appalachian School of Law

Grundy, VA: (Jan-03-05) Four lawsuits were filed against the law school for allegedly ignoring repeated warnings that Peter Odighizuwa was a threat before he opened fire in 2002, killing the dean, a professor and a student and wounding three other students. The lawsuits claimed the school should have foreseen the violence. The Appalachian School of Law in Grundy has agreed to pay $1 million to settle the lawsuits over the deadly shooting rampage by the struggling student. The money will go to the three wounded students and the 10-year-old daughter of the slain student. [LAW.COM: SHOOTING RAMPAGE]
