BearingPoint

Honolulu, HI: (Mar-28-07) Hawaiian Telcom brought charges against outgoing contractor BearingPoint after enduring a year of computer-related billing problems. Hawaiian Telcom retained BearingPoint in August 2004 to design, build, and operate various information technology systems. Following the billing related issues in February 2007, both parties mutually agreed to resolve the contract issues and to transfer the remainder of the work to a third party, Accenture. In a settlement reached to resolve claims, BearingPoint agreed to pay $52 million in cash and to waive outstanding invoices, bringing the total value of the settlement to $90 million.
