Baton Rouge, LA: (Mar-15-07) In a six year long legal battle concerning Shell Chemical, a settlement was reached with the company agreeing to pay $6.5 million to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. The settlement covers 21 violations between 1999 and 2004 at four sites in St. Charles Parish and one in Ascension Parish, according to DEQ.
