Wilkes-Barre, PA: (Mar-03-07) A lawsuit filed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental officials against PPL following the 2005 fly ash spill at PPL's Martins Creek Steam Electric Station was settled when PPL agreed to pay $1.5 million in damages. The settlement between the environmental agency and PPL also addresses the utility's responsibilities to continue assessing the impact of the Delaware River spill and any further cleanup required.
