Columbus, OH: (Feb-27-07) A legal settlement was reached with the families of the ten victims who succumbed to a fire that devastated a wooden skeleton exposed above melted siding and almost a completely burned off roof. An agreement was reached with owner Paramount Financial Group, Inc. of Granville; property management company RLJ Management Co. of Gahanna in suburban Columbus; Ameriguard Investigators & Security of Reynoldsburg in suburban Columbus; and New York-based Matrix Realty Group, which was planning to buy part of the complex. The defendants settled with family members of the victims, paying each family about $555,000, minus about $222,000 in attorneys' fees. [BEACON JOURNAL: FIRE VICTIMS]
