Providence, RI: (Feb-12-07) Michael Walsh, a former inmate at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Providence, RI, sued the state for abuse suffered while he was in prison. The lawsuit alleged Walsh was forced to put his own fecal matter in his mouth by the guards on Valentines Day. Corrections officers often adapt to brutal tactics to command respect and obedience from the inmates, but this was clearly a violation of human rights.
