Troy, OH

Troy, OH: In October, 2006, the city of Troy fired Marian Drozd for changing the reason her daughter left the city Parks and Recreation Department from "terminated" to another explanation. She claimed she had permission because her daughter left the job to attend Hudson Valley Community College on a fulltime basis, but Parks and Recreation Director George Rogers denied he granted permission or that he had the authority to do so. Drozd squared off against the city in front of an arbitrator assigned by the Public Relations Employee Board Wednesday. Before it was over, the city agreed to give her another job at her $41,000 salary but not give her any pay for the three months she was out of work. (Jan-27-07) [TROY RECORD: FIRED CLERK]
