Hampton Inn and Falling Spring Corp.

Hagerstown, MD: A complaint was filed against the Hampton Inn in Hagerstown, which is part of Falling Spring Corp., claiming the hotel discriminated against Kimberly Sudhoff when it withdrew an offer of employment as a part-time receptionist after realizing she was about four months pregnant. A settlement was signed by United States District Court Judge William Quarles Jr. which awarded Sudhoff $45,000 in compensation. The settlement also requires employees at Hampton Inn attend sessions regarding employment discrimination. The consent agreement orders Hampton Inn to pay Sudhoff's compensatory damages within 10 business days. (Jan-19-07) [HERALD-MAIL: PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION]
