Oklahoma City, OK: On May 29, 2004, Tamera Ferry, resident at a center for the developmentally disabled, drowned after she was left unattended in a bathtub at the Southern Oklahoma Resource Center in Paul's Valley. Ferry, 45, who had cerebral palsy and was mildly retarded, wasn't supposed to be left alone. She had lived at the center since 1962. Ferry's father filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the department and is set to receive a $135,000 settlement from the Department of Human Services. (Jan-24-07) [FOX 23 NEWS: DISABLED DROWNING]
