Friedman's Jewelers

Addison, TX: A lawsuit was filed against the jewelry company after it allegedly signed people up for credit insurance without their consent. The suit claimed Friedman's Jewelers routinely sold credit, property and disability insurance to low income customers who applied for credit to buy jewelry. The jewelry chain has about 420 stores nationwide. Friedman's has agreed to a $2.15 million settlement but has denied any wrongdoing. (Oct-17-06) [DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL: FRIEDMANS JEWELERS]
