Stillwater School District

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit against the school district alleging the early-retirement program discriminated against older workers. The case was filed on behalf of 57 former employees who retired between 1998 and 2001. Early-retirement incentive plans reduced benefit payments the longer employees waited to retire. The Stillwater School District has agreed to pay $1.1 million to settle the age discrimination lawsuit. (Aug-22-06) [PIONEER PRESS]
