Ford County Attorney John Sauer

Julie Funk worked as an assistant to the county attorney and Erin Cox worked as an office manager. Funk's salary was cut six months after Sauer took office. It was later reinstated by the Ford County Commission, and Fund was subsequently fired. Funk filed a lawsuit with the Kansas Human Rights Commission against John Sauer and accused him of harassment, discrimination and wrongful termination. Cox was listed as a witness in Funk's complaint and was fired for her involvement. She later filed her own complaint alleging harassment. Ford County agreed to pay the women a $137,500 settlement.
