Pasadena-based Dish Direct Inc.

Pasadena-based Dish Direct Inc., makers of an herbal penile enlargement pill, alleged the product's effectiveness had been scientifically tested. The consumer protection unit discovered the marketers and promoters had falsely advertised the product and also found the pill contained higher levels of lead than permitted. Dish Direct, which operates as Maximizer Health Products Inc., markets the pills nationally using television infomercials and the Internet. As well, 600 complaints have been filed against the company nationwide with the Better Business Bureau, mainly referring to automatic charging of credit cards for unwanted shipments and problems getting refunds.
