The U.S. Government

For many years, the U.S. and Canada have battled softwood lumber prices. In 2002, the Bush administration imposed tariffs of 27 percent on lumber coming into the U.S from Canada and the duties were eventually reduced to 11 percent after a series of appeals and litigation.
