AquaZone and Sheico PKS Inc.

On July 14, 2003 Susann Lovejoy went diving with her husband and daughter at Turtle Canyon in Hawaii Kai as part of an eight person dive group led by one instructor. Susann Lovejoy drowned during the scuba diving trip when she had problems with a device that controlled her buoyancy. A Coast Guard investigation found that inadequate supervision contributed to the accident so Susann's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the scuba dive charter company, the manufacturer of the diving equipment and the equipment distributor. AquaZone has agreed to pay $400,000, Sheico PKS Inc. will award $300,000, and the equipment distributor paid $700,000 towards the settlement. (May-26-06) [CHARLESTON DAILY MAIL]
