Gold's Gym

A lawsuit was filed on behalf of thousands of former Lifestyles 2000 gym members after the company refused to honor their lifetime contracts or refund membership fees when the fitness chain was acquired by Gold's Gym in 2004. An investigation was launched after the Utah state Division of Consumer Protection received numerous complaints from former Lifestyles members claiming Gold's Gym had refused to refund their membership fees when it closed Lifestyles gyms. According to the settlement terms, more than 7,000 former Lifestyles members statewide will have access to nine new Gold's Gyms. (May-23-06) [DAILY HERALD]
