The San Diego U.S. Attorney filed charges against the hospital chain for allegedly violating criminal anti-kickback laws by funneling more than $10 million to physicians to increase admissions at its Alvarado Hospital Medical Center. The lawsuit claimed Tenet bribed practitioners to established physician groups to entice them to admit patients to the hospital.
