Tenet HealthSystem Hahnemann, LLC

On February 21, 2003, at the age of 32, Rosalyn Patterson went into the Hahnemann University Hospital to give birth to her fourth child. She suffered massive brain damage from blood loss after undergoing an emergency Caesarean section. Her family filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital claiming hospital staff grossly underestimated blood loss from the surgery and then delayed administering any blood until it was too late. Patterson was left alone for more than 25 minutes in the recovery room before she was discovered unconscious. Tenet has agreed to a settlement, but the amount of the settlement remains confidential.
