In 2002, the Crow Indian tribe filed a lawsuit claiming the government had mismanaged its trust fund accounts from 1972 to 1992. The government settled without admitting liability and has agreed to pay the tribe a $10 million settlement. The money will be spent on social and educational needs as well as caring for and developing the reservation. (May-03-06) [INDEPENDENT RECORD]
