Hazle Township

Lonzetta Trucking and Hazle Township settled a federal case regarding the closing of a quarry. While the settlement is for an undisclosed amount, Lonzetta Trucking had sought more than $1.5 million during the civil trial which accused the city of wrongfully closing the quarry in a manner that was "shocking to the conscience" and violated the civil rights of the business owners.

The settlement responds to losses suffered by the business as a result of a zoning dispute, which the owners feel was responsible for the decline of their business and cost employees jobs. (Mar-31-06) [STANDARD SPEAKER]
