Microsoft and Autodesk

David Colvin, the founder of z4 Technologies, sued the two software companies in federal court, claiming they appropriated two of his antipiracy software patents with Microsoft's Office and Windows XP and Autodesk's AutoCad programs. A Texas Jury has ordered Microsoft to pay $115 million and Autodesk was required to pay $18 million in the patent infringement settlement. (Apr-19-06) [NEWS.COM]
