Audubon String Quartet

Violinist David Ehrlich was dismissed from the classical quartet in 2000. Ehrlich filed a wrongful dismissal lawsuit against his former colleagues who have agreed to pay him a $500,000 settlement. To cover the settlement, violinist Akemi Takayama will pay Ehrlich $40,000 while, cellist Clyde Shaw and violist Doris Lederer will give Ehrlich the proceeds from the sale of their home in Blacksburg, $200,000 from the sale of their instruments and bows and $59,000 drawn from their retirement fund.
