Nancy Sulz was an RCMP constable in Merritt, BC. She was forced to take time off work due to complications with her pregnancy. After taking maternity leave and returning back to work, Sulz claimed she was harassed by her superiors. Staff Sargent Donald Smith and two other officers made humiliating and unfair comments about Sulz and her position was eventually terminated. Ten years after she filed the complaint, the RCMP has agreed to award Sulz a $950,000 discrimination settlement. (Jan-24-06) [CBC NEWS]
