Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

Former construction manager Bill Arnold filed a whistleblower lawsuit claiming the agency retaliated against him for reporting over billing by consulting firms. Consultant companies hosted agency managers at expensive golf outings and sports events and were given approval to bill the department for such events. State auditors are investigating over billing charges. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has agreed to pay Arnold a $500,000 whistleblower settlement. (Jan-17-06) [PITTSBURG LIVE]
