This is a settlement for the Commercial lawsuit.
Co-defensive coordinator John Thompson was demoted by Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier midway through the 2005 season and later placed on a leave of absence. Thompson filed a breach of contract and wrongful termination lawsuit against the university. The University of South Carolina has agreed to pay Thompson a $101,000 settlement for the contract dispute. (Jan-21-06)
