University of Connecticut

A lawsuit was filed against the school for allegedly filing false grant applications and over billing the government for research at two campus centers. Between 1997 and 2004, the university submitted false claims on about 500 federal grants used for research at the Environmental Research Institute and the Booth Research Center. The University of Connecticut has agreed to pay a $2.5 million settlement for mismanagement. (Jan-10-06) [NEWSDAY]
