Louisa County School Board

On February 9, 2004, 18 students were in a bus accident when school bus driver Lorrie Ann Batten swerved off the road and hit a tree. Batten was convicted of reckless driving after she fell asleep while driving. 17 students survived the crash, but 16-year-old Thomas Cameron was killed. His family filed a $10 million lawsuit against the school board, but the details of the actual out of court settlement are confidential. (Jan-06-06) [DAILY PRESS]
