Pacific Steel Casting

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District filed charges against the steel plant regarding odorous emissions. The West Berkeley plant allegedly violated regulations for odorous emissions, as well as other opacity and permit violations. Pacific Steel has agreed to pay $17,500 in fines, install a $2 million carbon filtration system, and develop an odor management plan approved by the air district for the entire facility.
